Rumours are circulating that Klimp has agreed a deal with us & will be unveiled tomorrow. Watched him on youtube & he looked like a monster, which is exactly what we need in our team at the moment.
Can anyone tell me what he was like?

Decent player, would be a good signing for you's if true.
It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

Doubt it to be true (Although now I've typed this I await it to be quoted to when he does sign.)

I'd be surprised if he ended up at Dundee. He played well enough (if being overly physical) to earn him a move to a better club, and a better wage than he'll get in the 1st.

Seemingly it was between us & Aberdeen vying for his signature. He chose us but at the last minute decided to stay in Denmark but the rumours circulating are stating he has done a u-turn. This makes it all sound quite far fetched but all we can do is wait & see.

We're probably paying a lot more than the SPL diddy sides (no offence)
I like a bit of a cavort.

A better wage than Calum Melville can afford to pay while financing his plaything?

Heh.. I don't doubt that, but then that's what a sugar daddy can give you..
Seriously though, a player that could easily play in the English Championship and I doubt Dundee could match those wages.

Panic Signing. If it isn't working, throw some money at it.

Fantastic approach. I suggest Calum Melville throws one of his gold bullion bars at Jocky Scott's head. His subsequent death would remove a major barrier in Dundee's quest for promotion.

In that case, are Motherwell not interested in having him back because they can't afford him, or because Gannon just doesn't want him?
I was under the impression Motherwell didn't have enough in the pot to bring him back and one of his other suitors - Aberdeen - were scared off when Dundee started flexing their financial muscles.
Hence my comments regarding Calum Melville's ludicrous claims regarding wages at Dundee on the First Division forum.

I'm pretty sure them & Aberdeen were. Klimpl went on trial with Cardiff but failed to win a contract & that is about as much as anyone knows really.
EDIT: Niz beat me too it. Although, I'm not sure Aberdeen or Motherwell offered a deal.

That won't be necessary. Dropping points at Airdrie and Raith will prove a far deadlier weapon against Jocky than the spoils of Die Hard: With A vengeance.

I'm actually surprised McGhee hasn't gone for him at Aberdeen. He's a free agent and even if wasn't going to walk into their first team, he proved he could play well at this level and McGhee seemed to take a shine to him.
Gannon seems to have his own ideas about the team and seems to be going for youngsters and has brought in a fair few new mid-fielders already so I don't think he's interested.
If this is true then this could be an excellent signing. A good mid-fielder, the kind of player who stops other teams playing. Picked up one or two yellows if I remember

He was after the same 5k pw he was on at Midjytland (sp) I believe which Aberdeen balked at. If Dundee are offering him anywhere near that, I would be stunned.
As for him as a player, he certainly puts himself about. Became a bit of a cult hero to begin with due to his no nonsese style but as time went on and the bookings mounted, I think he ended up with about 10 in half a seasons play, many realised him to be a liability, whether it be missing games via suspension, stupid bookings and needless challenges giving away dangerous free kicks, I think we are better off with Giles Coke in his role as he seems to be twice the player of Klimpl already.
I have no doubt he'd do a job with any SPL side outwith the top 2 and would be stunned to see him go to Dundee.

Im confused, are you saying he's a liability who would do a job for every team in the SPL except the Old Firm?

It's a done deal. He will be unveiled tomorrow.

Why waste thousands of pounds a week on a guy that just kicks opponents? You could whistle at any junior ground and get a talentless thug from there for a fraction of the cost.

Paying players 5k a week in the SFL is a sensible, sustainable business plan.

I think the main reason that 'Well fans (including me) took to Kilmpl was that he was the first guy we'd had in about 10 years that was prepared to get stuck in and was a whole-hearted player. A neutral or opposition fan probably just saw a dirty b*****d that couldn't tackle, pass or shoot very well. I'd imagine he'd be an excellent player in the first division.
