Morning,

Going shopping later and was wondering if anybody could recommend a game that would work on a netbook.

I know there are limitations in performance so something that will run light is fine.

Acer aspire 8930g intel cor duo 2.4 ghz 1066 Mhz FSB 3MB L2 cache.
1791MB NVIDIA GeForce 9700m gt turbo cache
4GB DDR3

Online multiplayer no biggy as I will be offline most of the time while travelling.

Cheers

Rome Total War with the Roma Surrectum mod is still the best game I have for the PC

Empire Total War had so much potential to be great but is so bugged and has such poor AI that it is unplayable

I only ever play Strategy games on the PC though so couldn't help you with anything else

It's hard to give a total run down but all can be found here

It isn't the most historically accurate mod and the Romans have been given a lot more time than the other factions, but the gameplay and difficulty are just perfect IMO.

They have been working on RS 2 for what seems like forever now and promises to be the most extensive mod ever made

What mods, updates etc are there on top of the one above that I should install?

I just have RS installed although haven't played it in a wee bit however I think that will have to change

There are other major mods and it can be a case of just finding the one which suits. Others I have used at one point and enjoyed have been Europa Barbarorum, Darth Mod, Total Realism, Terrae Expugnandae.

I liked all the above but just find RS to be the most enjoyable

There are also mods like a LotR one which will totally update the game

I've never really been into gaming or anything like that, but lately have been thinking of getting a couple just for something to do when i've got any spare time.

Had my laptop a while now and don't really know anything about them from a tech/spec point of view, so I was wondering if anyone could let me know if it will run games comfortably or otherwise? As I say I dont know anything about it, so i'm just linking to it from a webpage. It's this one here

Cheers in advance!

Ive always wanted to get into the total war games, but i never can, i know i can always fast foward through the battle and i seem to win regardless.

Thats what I always do

I play it more for the risk-esque type strategy, rather than the battles. I particularly liked Shogun, with its assassins :)

I got the Sims 3 but it is incredibly slow.  You should get Football Manager 2009. Seeing as you're an offline layer you'll have to go through all that Steam bollocks but it's worth it.

If penguins could run, they'd run like Joe Cardle.

Champ man 01/02 not very big so is good for laptops, FM08 is better than 09 imo.

EDIT - Excluding a few good new features (not 3d pitch)
