Out today on the 360, looks brilliant, and you can switch between the makeover or the original at the touch of a button, as conversions go, its about as slick as you could have hoped.
800 points, 550mb and well worth it.

I think the novelty value of playing this on the 360 will win the day.

Is this just the same game with better graphics? Because I have all the puzzles burned into my brain, especially for the three trials!

As much as I love the game, I too could probably complete it in my sleep from memory so although the voices and graphics will be nice, I think I'll pass on it.
I also read there were some kind of mini-story MI games coming out soon (they may even be out now).

Yeh it is.
Ill play it through on the 360, although ill try the pc one too, if it uses the mouse it will obviously be easier than the pad.

They are out, they are from Telltale Games - the same company that did the new Sam & Max games (also excellent) and the Wallace and Gromit ones (supposedly great but I've never played them).
It's called Tales of Monkey Island and the first episode (Launch of the Screaming Narwhal) was released last week. You can get the whole series for £18 the now, a new episode is released every month.

I've played through Secret countless times, played through it once on my PSP and the puzzle where
Spoiler
was extremely difficult using the PSP's controller.you've got to stand on the corner of the pier three times to get the bird to fly up so you can pick up the red herring
Obviously the X360 controller is a bit better than the PSP one but the fact you only get a couple of seconds to
Spoiler
made it really, really tricky.
walk, go down to pick up, go back up to the fish and click

The 360 has a new interface (or you can use the old interface if you prefer with the old graphics) so it makes it easy to use.

I have got it for my laptop. I haven't forgotten anything about the game. I played it for just over an hour and I am just about to get the ship off Stan and sail to Monkey Island. It's still a fun wee game, but I miss having to figure out the puzzles.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.

Was delighted to find this last night on steam! However, it is utterly infuriating watching a mate play it who doesn't know what he is doing and trying to resist the temptation to tell him what he should be doing!

Would I be ostracised if I was to say I never really liked the LucasArts point and click adventures? While I quite liked the humour there was a little too much running around (A to B then to C then to A again) for my liking.

I loved day of the tentacle and full throttle, the dig was good, but i was never as big a fan of monkey island and sam and max as most other people.
Grim fandango is still probably their best, given the dross thats served up now though, its nice to see companies putting this kind of work into a remake.

I remember playing Manic Mansion and Zak McCraken in the olden days for the C64, but the Amiga games (including all the Sierra stuff; Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, etc) never really got me that excited.

Not strictly point and click, but I did enjoy Heimdall a LOT on the Amiga. In terms of old school point click and games, I used to love the Discworld game, just for its humour, although I never got close to completing it.

I never went near Discworld as I find Pratchett's books seriously tedious. Adams >>>>>>>>>>>
Pratchett, imo.

I liked them both, but I found that Adams didn't have much re-reading value. Once I had read it once, I had absolutely no interest in reading it again, whereas I read many of the Discworld books on a regular basis. You were probably right to stay away from the game.
