I did spot that one too, great odds. I've plumped for Adam Scott at 55/1 with Sky Bet. Almost all the odds with Sky Bet are better than the others.

Can't see Scott coming close to be honest. Has suffered a major dip in form this year. If he was up contending I don't think he has enough confidence in himself to go on and win.

£2 e/w on Justin Rose @ 140/1

£5 on Westwood to win @ 28/1

£1 on Ross Fisher @ 45/1

3 easy steps to losing a tenner but hopefully 1 of them will give me a run for my money

Tom Watson off too a flyer. 2- after 5 and in a 3 way tie for the lead with graeme McDowell and Mark Calcaveccia.

Weswood birdies the 1st while Tiger missed an 8 footer for birdie.

Westwood 3 under after 3 and just knocked his tee shot to within 8 feet at the 4th.

Have you tried Justin TV Vinnie?

I would be very surprised if he sold/sells any of those half Celtic/half Killie monstrosities.

I've cut a deal with the IT guy at work. He's letting me watch the golf in exchange for my Sky login details so he can watch the cricket online. Everyone's a winner baby B)

You cant bet tiger at 5/2.

I'm fed up making that same decision and watching him win.

I dont have a bet yet on the event, but I can't see Woods not winning.

I'm fed up with the Beeb's coverage already.

Isn't there more people on the course than the Woods-Westwood group? It's even showing you Tiger walking from the green to the next tee.

Sky's golf coverage pisses all over this joke.

As for the golf itself, from what little I've seen from the other groups, good to see Tom Watson doing well again. I got into golf watching him win at Troon in 1982.

I hate the BBC's coverage also, though are they still doing the interactive thing, where they followed 2 or 3 groups? - that was good.

Sky's coverage is always a Woods wankathon too though. David Livingston in particular.

That's always been my hope too, but with him starting early today and likely to be under par, I can't see how he will get bigger than that.

The Open at Sandwich when he took irons off every tee and coasted home was one of the dullest in living memory from a punting point of view.

Have to agree. I have money on Westwood and even i am fed up with it. Senden is leading in the clubhouse and we only saw a couple of clips of him. We have seen more pictures of that bloody Yacht than we have of the others

He won the US open with a broken leg before being out the game for a year with that injury. So he has only competed in the Masters and US Open since then. He has really been all over the place today and i wouldn't touch him at that price

Err, he won the US Open last year. He has only contended in two since, finishing tied 6th twice.

He won the Open in 05 and 06 and didn't compete last year. He's won 2 of the last 3 or 3 of the last 8 he has competed in if you go back slightly further.

He is no value at all.

Value is much overrated. A player who should be 100/1 but who is available at 200/1 is arguably a value bet, but they aren't going to win, so you will lose your dough.

I'd rather be backing Woods at 5/2 than any of the alternatives. I think the likes of Garcia at around 20/1 is a far poorer bet for example.

I do take your point, especially if you like a sporting few quid on the event rather than a hefty chunk. Sticking a tenner on a 5/2 shot isn't going to get the pulse racing.

I actually much prefer golf events when Woods doesn't play, both from a coverage point of view and a betting one.
