I got a £30 HMV voucher for my birthday there and was gonna buy an Xbox game. I thought about Prototype but is it worth the money? Or Fallout 3 which everyone on here seems to like?

If its a toss up between the two then definitely Fallout 3, but you could wait for a couple of months and probably pick up the game of the year addition which should have all the main additional content.

Definitely Fallout 3.
You should also consider Bioshock, Mass Effect and The Orange Box.

Any opinions are not necessarily my own but those of the BBC.

I have Bioshock, it's a truly epic game. Can't wait for the second one.
Might get the Orange Box at some point.
I gave Mass Effect a go at my mate's house and didn't really enjoy it much.

Good tips, for me my top 4 360 game recommendations would be
1. Fallout 3
2. Oblivion
3. The Orange Box
4. Bioshock

If your willing to wait for the game of the year edition, then just wait for Borderlands, its a fallout 3 style game with customisable mad max cars, 4 player co-op and a mere 650,000 guns to choose from thanks to a random weapon generator
I'm gonna throw you in my DeLorean and gun it to 88.

Mass Effect starts really slowly, i couldnt get into it for ages, persevered and was rewarded with one of my favorite all time games.
Fallout is brilliant though, utter genius.

Just as a side track here. I was looking to swap the orange box on the bargain basement thread.

What is 'The Orange Box'? I've seen a few people online playing it but I don't have a clue on what it's about!

TBH alot of the games mentioned above are really not my kind of games. I'm more into sport and action games e.g. Fifa/Cod. I'm not going to buy a game untill the new Fifa and Cod come out as I really don't play any other games than them and I would rather spend my money on nights out etc.

I got prototype yesterday and its an amazing game, i can see myself getting bored of it pretty quickly though tbh as its pretty repetitive. I couldn't really get into Fallout 3 despite trying numerous times, probably cos it is so similar to oblivion.

There's not actually a game called 'The Orange Box', it's a collective term for a compilation of games.
Half Life 2
Half Life 2 : Episode 1
Half Life 2 : Episode 2
Portal
Team Fortress.
All in one package, named 'The Orange Box' due to the colour of the packaging.

Yeah, except it's not a first person shooter, is it?
I agree though it's a really good game. For some reason I've not yet finished it though, I got to about chapter 8 then got sidetracked by something else.

Just finished Gears of War 2 so would highly recommend that, bought Call of Duty: World at War today (pre-owned so much cheapness), looks good so far.
Dodos aren't extinct, they've just gone away and forgot to leave a forwarding address
