Surprised there hasn't been a thread on this yet. It's at Bethpage Black just outside New York and hopefully it'll be your typical beast of a US Open course.
Tiger will obviously be the bookies favourite but Mickelson will be certainly the crowd favourite following his well documented personal problems. Jim Furyk for me would be a decent each way shout. He's a very steady player and he seems to enjoy your average US Open set up so i'll be quite surprised if he's not there or thereabouts come sunday night.
Anybody fancy a punt on the Europeans? Casey is the form guy but he just doesn't strike me as a guy who can keep it together for 4 rounds in a major. McIllroy will have plenty of backers but I think it's far too early for him and Harrington is playing junk just now. Poulter is playing most of his golf in the US just now so I think he could well be the top ranked European.

I am sticking with 3. Villegas, Kim & Jeev M Singh. All to win and top 5 placed.

Ah, another fan of the Jeev
What a nice man he is. Tidy golfer as well. Doesn't seem to get too flustered and will certainly have the patience. Could be an excellent each way shout and i'd imagine he'll be at decent odds as well.

if tiger is as accurate with his driver as he was in that last tournament, it will be hard to look past him. That said i do fancy casey with him being in great form.

Bethpage Black was a swine of a course on Tiger Woods '04.
As for the real life thing, I reckon Geoff Ogilvy can win this again. He's having a great season, and the course should suit him.

Hoping Casey can win it, the guy is a great player and deserves a major. Other British hope is Graeme McDowall from N Ireland, he's in a bit of form and did well at the masters.
If none of them can win it, hopefully a European will. Henrik Stensson or maybe even Garcia are decent shouts.
Just hope an American doesen't win it...

Play suspended due to waterlogged course.
Woods double bogeyed the 5th and is in trouble. Jeff Brehaut, Johan Edfors, Andrew Parr and Ryan Spears are the leaders at 1 under.
The way they're talking they don't expect any more play today.

Weather looks absolutely atrocious. The course is hard enough on a good day.

Now is the first time I've been able to watch this, a bit annoyed it's going to finish tomorrow, a Sunday night watching the end of a US major is a great thing. Hopefully we'll either see a good head-to-head between Glover and Barnes or a total collapse from both of them and someone coming through the field, Mickelson or Duval would be good stories.
Speakin of Duval, I obviously haven't seen him on TV in years, was he always a bit tubby or has he spent the last few years eating pies?

Must have put it on, I don't remember him being heavy. Good to see him rekindling some form.

Well two unknowns in the lead. Will both collapse tomorrow? Cant see it.Mickleson looked good last night some excellent birdies, cracking put on the 17th. He could pose a threat. Duval looked good,i always liked him,but i think it may be a big ask.

Duvall used to be matchstick thin, obviously his Vertigo ain't stopping him attacking the bottom drawer of his freezer.
Don't think there is any way Digger and The Glove will both blow up to such an extent that someone will come through the field. Would love to see Duval win.

I'm hoping that Glover and Barnes mess up big style. Nothing worse than seeing a no mark American winning a major. I'll be rooting for Duval so hopefully he wont implode and we'll still see him riding high come the end.
If Ross Fisher can get his putter to work then he is right in it. He hits the ball absolutely miles and his game yesterday was quite impeccable until he hit the dance floor. Can't see him keeping it up though. I expect to see him fall back with a 75 or something like that.

Barnes and Glover both going backwards and only at the 5th. I reckon if someone posts a score in the clubhouse of -3 or -4 they'll win this.

Woods is loitering around at -1 just now. If he can somehow get himself to -3 then I think he could well take this. He's running out of holes but you just never know with him.
Good to see Fisher still hanging in there at -2. Hopefully he can battle away and stay where he is (or even get to -3). This is going to be some finish. Hurry up 5 o'clock so I can get home!!!!

I'm sitting "watching" this on the BBC site updating the Leaderboard page every 5 mins or so. Must get home as soon as possible
Woods sitting at that score is probably enough to make the rest of the field keech their drawers
