Recently my computer has been running far more slower than usual. I presume this is because of the amount of shite I have on it. Can someone advise me how to clear out all the pissh of my system? I have already run adaware so that one is already out the window. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Can your temporary internet files have anything to do with it? If so then how do you stop your computer storing them?
Cheers

Psycho, you should also run Spybot search and destroy. Search for it in google.
Also stinger, again, search in google.
Finally, CWshredder, again google for it.
I'm not sure how to stop temp internet files, or even if you can, but those three programs are excellent.

Try disk cleanup then defrag the drive. Then restart your com and it should run faster, works on mine. Also, check what Proccess are going on, the wee bar at the bottom of the screen with the time on it usually gives a clear indication of what is running. Try uninstalling stuff that you don't need or deleting it, just generally go on a spring clean, but remember to defrag afterwards.

I think Temp Internet files are stired by the cimputer from frequently visited sites. They are cached so that visiting these sites is faster as the computer already has some information about them stored in this temporary folder.

If you right click on your IE icon on your desktop (also accessible from the Tools menu when running IE - select Internet Options).
When the dialog is displayed there should be a button almost exactly in the middle of the screen marked "Delete Files". Select this then tick the "Delete offline content" tick box and click ok. This will delete all your temp internet files. You could also clear your history - button is further down the page.
If you don't have a great deal of space you can adjust the size of the temp internet files storage. To do this select the Settings button that is beside the Delete Files button. On the subsequent pop-up you can asjust home much space to allocate to the storage of these files. You will need some, but reducing this can give you more space. It just means when it fills it up it will overwite older temp files.
As has been suggested running Defrag is a good idea. In fact is something that you should do on a semi-regular basis as a heaviliy defragged disk can have an adverse effect on system performance. Also As Ruggy mentioned get those other progs and run them in case you have some dodgy adware on your PC that is doing stuff in the background.
Do you have lots of things running in the system tray (that thing where you clock is in the bottom right usually)? If so re-evaluate whether you need things to be running there all the time. You may not need to uninstall - just start the program when you need it rather than have it running all the time.
Incidentally what operating system are you running as there may be system services that you can stop that you do not require?

To do a defrag go into my computer
Then click on your hard disk drive icon (normally C:/ or whatever you have called it) and right click it
Then click on properties on the menu that comes up then the tools tab
The defrag option should be there.
