Dumbarton captain and former Rovers player of the year has been killed in a car crash.

A very nice guy to have a chat with - even when he returned to Ciftonhill with Dumbarton. My sympathies are with his friends and family.
Albion Rovers directory enquiries 118821 . Just 41p per call from a BT line.

A substantial amount of the proceeds go to Albion Rovers Supporters' Trust

Absolutely brilliant that The scummy b******s from Maryhill and those well mannered, delightfully clean chaps from out Hamilton way, have started a thread all about their love for all things Clyde. Now f**k off back under the rock from whence you slithered, you manky, scummy f***pigs. In fact, I apologise.........Hamilton fans please do not include yourselves in the above instruction, as no way can you be as bad as..... THEM.

I remember Cesc Fabregas telling me how he good this guy was a few years ago and I finally got to see him play for Albion against Stenny. He was a cut above anyone else on the park.

RIP. Terrible news.

I'm hoping this is all a bit of muddled information but from your guys sources it doesn't seem so. Great guy, had a chat with him at the last home game and saw him with his new baby during celebrations. Terrible for his family.

Sadly it is true - as Grant posted above it is on the Dumbarton Official Website. A complete tragedy - didnt know he had a new baby too. A complete and utter travesty and my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Can only echo the above sentiments. Came across as a great guy and was somewhat of a hero at Ochilview in his short spell here.

Mr D, it is 100 percent true unfortunately what a numb feeling this is to think it was only a few weeks ago he captained Dumbarton to title glory and now he has passed on when he should have had a long life in front of him with his girlfriend and child, as you say it is Tragic

i'm shocked man, seemed like a great guy and you could tell he couldn't wait to play in the 2nd with the sons and did his all for any club he was with.

terrible for his family and young kid

can't believe this, R.I.P Lennon
His t-shirt said god bless the pope, Boruc Boruc
It offended those who dont use soap, Boruc Boruc
He placed the ball down on the spot
Hit the top corner with his shot
Artur Boruc scored a penalty!

I believe he was involved in some form of off road activity day up near Inverness when he crashed late this afternoon.

A tragic waste of such young life. And a really genuine guy too.

Condolencies to all his family and friends and especially his girlfriend and young baby.

It just puts things like relegation and promotion into perspective.

Was out tonight, and heard about this. Tragic.

It gives you a numb feeling hearing about it. He was a genuinely great guy to speak to and it's just terrible, terrible news.

Condolences to him and his family.

Received a call about 8:30pm this evening when it wasn’t clear what had happened. Clung to the hope that it wasn’t the worst possible news and I am deeply saddened to discover that it is tragically true.

I remember how thrilled he and his family were when he signed for Thistle and although it didn’t work out at Firhill he was always a personable, popular and approachable guy. I was delighted that he was part of a successful Dumbarton side last season.

I would like to see the gate receipts from the Dumbarton v Thistle pre=season friendly go to his dependents.

I literally don't know what to say

one of those football doesn't matter moments

I had the priveledge of speaking to him a fair bit in the last few weeks & he was one of the most friendly, enthusiastic, postive guys you could ever meet, all the cliched things you hear about people but so true in this case, it is totally unfair, he has left a young family, his kid can't be more than a few of months old

When speaking to him at the final game of the season, he was just a great, young guy.

This happening when he was so young and recently became a father is just tragic.

I'm so shocked..

From what everyone is saying he was a great, geniune guy. Fought tooth and nail to get us up, shame he won't be there to play next year. Feel so sorry for his family, didn't know he had a little baby, condolences to them.

R.I.P Gordon Lennon. Legend.
