They should just do away with test cricket and only play 20-20. Its far better.
Despite being English, I was wanting the Dutch to win in the last over last night. One of the few times cricket has ever been exciting. Think the Ashes in 2005 were not bad in some games either.

Erm, how about no.
Windies win with 4 overs to spare, another fairly hefty upset.
Even men with steel hearts love to see a dog on the pitch.

Twenty20 is to test cricket what a comic is to a good book, it's a bit cooler looking and prettier but you're going to be bored of it pretty quickly.
Good way to get the short attention span morons into cricket though.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

They should just keep both.

The voice of reason.
Test Cricket and 20/20 are here to stay.
Both for commercial reasons.
If anything is to fade away, it will be the 40 / 50 over versions.

More comical fielding from the Jock XI today. Crikey, you'd think some of these clowns had never played cricket before. For the second day running Drummond throw one over the boundary. Jan Stander followed up going for 5 4's in one over by running past a ball in the field. McLeod let one through his legs for 4 and the Gavin Hamilton caught Kallis only to drop the ball when he rolled over after the catch. It's actually painful to watch.

Quite a good analogy. Test cricket is miles ahead of 20 Twenty, its good for a change however.

I've not sat down and watched a cricket game for years so this is brilliant. It's a really marketable concept and actually quite exciting for a neutral.
Pakistan struggling a bit after a quick couple of wickets from Broad. Looks like a good way to spend a Sunday evening.

I imagine it's pretty tough for a mainly amateur team to compete with world class sides like South Africa.

I watched England v Pakistan as well. Thoroughly entertaining and I think the big noisy crowd makes a difference too.

Swann's injury is very long term. Something to do with bone fragmentation and bits "float" around. He's already had one operation a couple of years ago but another one appears to be likely at some point in the future.
I thought the op he had when he mised the one day series in the West Indies was supposed to have removed all that?
Anyway, I see they were both back yesterday. Panic over.

Decent performance from England. Pakistan fielding/catching terrible. They look short of cricket.

I actually went back on my word and watched a bit of some games and i've really enjoyed what i've seen.
It's nice to see that Chris Gayle does have a pulse after all. He was absolutely brilliant and poor old Brett Lee will be having nightmares about him for a wee while. A couple of his sixes were enormous. I would dearly love to see the Windies come up against India in the later stages and watch Gayle and Yuvraj go head to head.
I wasn't surprised to see England come back strongly. I quite like the look of their batting line up and if they don't get complacent (like against Holland) then I think they can trouble South Africa in the next round. I would like to see Mascheranas move up the order though. If he was able to come in and face about 25/30 balls then he could quite easily rack up 60 runs.

Floating bone chips in the arm or elbow is a relatively minor injury. It's very common in baseball, and takes a one-off operation. Swann won't be troubled by it for years now, if ever, if, as I presume, he had the operation done when he missed the Windies one-dayers.
