Not as weird as getting a Dutch Cap for playing.
I bet Engerland feel like complete Johnnies.

I cant see it either. NZ have big hitters, that England dont have, that will smash the Scottish attack out the park(well thats the way its supposed to happen on paper...)

Never say never.
3 or 4 of the Scots batsmen have a more than decent chance of scoring a few runs and a bit of luck here and there, NZ could easily find themselves under the same enormous pressure as England did tonight.
If you watched the game, you will know exactly what pressure can do.
If the top batters don't come off though, we could get a roasting.

Don't worry, to be officially "involved", you need to contribute something meaningful.

I just cant see New Zealand having the same lackadaisical approach as England did. After Wright and Bopara opening they took their foot of the gas.

Fair comment.
England should have knocked up at least 180 and the Dutch would probably have struggled to score a hundred.
I bet Pieterson is absolutely livid.
Be hilarious if they beat Pakistan but go out on run rate.

#322 BROWN STAR WARS
A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Didn't England invent the T20 concept in 2003? How can they be so shit at it already?
They certainly don't seem to have much of a clue in 50 over matches (The Windies don't count seeing as they are perhaps the laziest, most inept touring side i've ever seen)

Fifty over, one-day cricket is dead. I don't entirely hold it against the West Indies for not being up for that wee bonus game payback.
It seems to me T20 is purely about slogging. England should just field the biggest hitting guys they have, instead of trying to be so clever. Stick Collingwood behind the stumps, six specialist batsmen, two all-rounders and three specialist bowlers who can hit a bit. No tricks, no subtlety, just bludgeon your way to victory.

I'd like to see them adopt this approach, but you know, and i know, it won't ever happen. England are far too formulaic in one day cricket, hence they generally have their arses handed back to them. Whereas other countries, esp the Aussies and Saffers are pretty innovative.

I think it comes down to team selection and work ethic. Tonight they genuinly thought they only had to turn up and before the stepped it up a gear Holland had the req rr down to a managable 6 per over.

Excellent post.
I agree entirely although I think Prior should have been behind the stumps.
