Dunfermline 2-1 Morton

Recommended Posts

Our first home win since Livi last year..tbf we deserved it tonight purely because we were the much better team in the first half while we were roughly evenly matched for the second..cracking goal by the Morton player aswell.

I think we just about deserved to win that because of the numerous chances we created in the first half.

Scott Wilson went off in the first half and left us with a defense of Glass at left back (central midfielder), Austin McCann at centre back (left back), Scott Muirhead at centre back (left back/left winger) and Greg Ross at right back (not even a footballer). Any team that only manages to score a wonder goal against that defense doesn't deserve to win a football match. I thought we did quite well and deserved to win considering the makeshift backline and on chances created in the first half.

Thought Burke was good tonight his passing, vision and chasing was "unexpected" to say the least.

Can anyone explain why half the Morton players who weren't playing tonight were sitting behind us in the main stand?

I think they might have been there to watch the game.

We where terrible tonight. Dunfermline missed so many good chances in the first half but the longer it went on i thought we might just scrape a draw. Our defence was missing for both goals and it was Mcmanus' worst game in a long time.

If only Greacen and McGuffie could get headers on target we may have sneaked a totally undeserved point. Thought our goal took quite a deflection but i was too busy getting one in the jaw from the guy next to me to take it fully in <_<

We did fairly well last night and deserved to win. When Scott Wilson went off and I saw who was coming in to play centre half for the rest of the game I really expected to lose the game, but McCann had a good game and Muirhead didn't look to be in too much difficulty either. Morton weren't great, and it looked very much like they were treating it as a friendly. Great strike for the goal, but I was surprised that they scored at all, given that apart from that, they only came colose to threatening twice with headers. David Graham had a good game, and it was a great ball in for the winner. He crossed for the first as well but in truth it was a dreadful ball that the defenders and keeper made a complete arse of.

Ach well, not the most excited I've ever been at a game, but got to be happy enough to win the game.

In a way I think the lower down the league we finish the better, so the Management know for certain we need to strengthen. As there were only 3 points separating 3rd top from 3rd bottom, I was concerned our Management/Board might think we don't need to change much to challenge next season.

Saturday's game against St Johnstone showed we're a long way short of the quality required. A 6th place finish might give our powers that be the reality check they need.

I just wish the season would be over now so we can start fighting it out with Dundee for the best players in Scotland. We're not going to win on Saturday, the players have switched off wether they mean to or not.

I think we have already established the size of your crowd doesn't determine your final league position. It was a meaningless midweek game on the same day as the Champions League semi final and it was pishing down with rain. I think a Saints fan is the last person that should be commenting on a poor crowd.
