Just downloaded this and am about to give it a shot, first time I've had Fifa on in donkey's.

I played this on the Champions League game last year when it was introduced and it was quite a novel take on a Master League style build your dream team but with a trading card system. It needed some refining but this does appear to have reaceived some tweaks.

The beauty also with this is you create your team so I can finally play with County, and on line. Also if you're a fan of similar relegation fodder such as Falkirk, Caley, Killie or St Mirren you can create them and build your team up so you at least have something decent to take online.

You can also create a club captain whose stats can be improved. I've created myself and am pleased to say there's a plethora of names which can be used in the commentary, my surname Mackintosh is in there whereas I don't think it was before for Be A Pro mode.

Hopefully the trading card system is implemented better than it was for the CL game, but it only needed minor tweaks anway.

Is it an online thing only? Or can this be played offline?

Played the trial yesterday and loved it, so bought it today. There has been some EA server issues so far, with them going down for most of yesterday and a wee while today, so hopefully EA will sort this soon.

Created Elgin City and put myself in as a winger. I'm a bit fed up of the amount of people who have their created player as a striker who is 7 ft tall! I don't think I've played a single person yet who hasn't got themselves as a striker. Got a very (un)deadly strike force of Wyness and John Sutton  Finally just got enough coins to buy my first silver card pack and got a couple of defenders and midfielders who's overall rating is 70+ so my team is looking quite good. Just need a couple of decent strikers! Anyone been able to win an online cup yet? The furthest I've been is the semi finals.

The wee cards you can use in match are quite cool. I love the one that makes the fans taunt the opposition keeper so any kick they take only goes about 10 yards

Anyone have a St Mirren home strip they want to trade? I cant carry on much longer playing in the horrible red and blue strip I have, need a black and white striped one!

There's on and offline modes. So you can play away until you've got Ronaldinho as an Albion player and decide to take them online.

Don't worry, I'm just a stocky left midfielder.

I've had a couple of offline games and after a couple of months of playing Become A Legend I'd forgotten just what a superior game of football Fifa is. The bad news though is Clive Tyldsley and Townsend do the commentary.

Im completely hooked on this, it's a brilliant wee setup.

Just played someone who had Henry and Torres as his front two already  !!

I was a bit disappointed that you can pay money for the packs though, sort of cheapens the whole thing a bit (pardon the pun)

This is being ruined by EA server down time. Unfortunately you can't seem to play it offline without being signed in.

I prefer them to Tyler and Gray.

Tyldesley is a cock, but it feels more real with him commentating somehow.

I prefer them too. I was getting a bit bored of the same commentary all the time, at least this is new.

Servers back up.

Had a couple of online games today and the tournament modes are the same as Euro 08, which is excellent. Cuffed a guy in the first round and then came up against a guy playing as King Cantona FC with the likes of Reina, Nedved and Carew in his team. I wondered what he was doing in the weakest tournament until I scored on my first attack. Lost in ET 2-1 though. :(

I hope the penalties for people disconnecting are severe, hopefully it will be easier to avoid these people as you build your team. The guy that disconnected in the 1st game couldn't even change his strip accordingly. I'm stuck with a red home and white away strip at the moment, he had red and white stripes and didn't even try to change. Dildo.

Ah, yes, just what FIFA needs, more glitter round the edges when everyone knows it's the core game that EA need to beef up.

"Personally I think we need to keep Rangers in the SPL. I don't care that fans will be upset with that." - Peter Houston (Dundee United Manager).

Has anyone else had the problem where you win a match in a tournament but then you can't play your next match. You press 'A' to play it and nothing happens. You press 'B' to quit nothing happens and the only way to get out of it is to go to the dashboard through the guide button then you have to restart the tournament again.

More innovation and dedication from EA to making Fifa the best football game around while Pro Evo players just pray for a lag-free game once in a while

I absolutely suck at this, played 10 games now and not won any! my team is half decent, but i just cannot win, ive had some absolute batterings, i got beat 8-1 last night, my guys fitness seems to be terrible, but the stats say they are all fit.

Yeah, I've had that problem too and so have quite a few people according to the EA forums.

Chemistry seems to be very important in this. When you have a low chemistry, it really shows on the pitch.
