All things tour wise in here please.

Wee Rory will have had to change his nappy after the 18th on Sunday :D

He is now in the world top 20 all at the age of 19 :o

I hope the winners cheque he received on Sunday will be enough for him to go to the barber for a 2 at the sides and back. <_<

I watched his back 9 on the final day knowing that he's got previous for throwing away handy leads but fair play to the young man, he showed some nerve on the 18th. That bunker shot was superb and to hole a tricky 6 footer for his maiden victory was knee-knockingly terrific. I fully expect him to win quite a few times this season now that he's got that monkey off his back. He also could, and probably should, be a multiple major winner by the time he's 25.

(I believe he's finished in the top ten in 8 out of his previous 12 starts including a number of top fives :o )

Casey was 6 down with 9 to play when I left for work. What did it finish? How did Ross fisher fair against cink?

Ogilvie won 4&3.

Cink holed a bunker shot on the 18th to win one up <_<

with ogilvy winning his 2nd world matchplay is he the best matchplay player in the world just now?

Obviously a fully fit Tiger would rated number 1 but he ain't fit just now! I thought he looked lethargic in his loss to tim Clark and will be interesting to see how he gets on next week in his return to strokeplay tournemant play.

I think he has won something like 17 / 19 matches in this tournament.

Best match player at the moment anyway

Yes.

Garcia is also within touching distance of being world number 1 :o

Nah, surely not. Say if he wasn't a big bottler and managed to win the USPGA back in August, would he now have been numero uno?

I heard big Ernie say at the weekend that Rory McIllroy will be the next number 1. High praise indeed.

I was very very impressed with young Rory at the World Matchplay. He has certainly come a long way from when he bottled out of a couple of wins at the tail end of last season.

He swing is faultless, so smooth and strong. He looks to be brimming with confidence too.

Tiger beware, there is a curly haired Irish man on your tail.

Great week for european golfers with wins for Poulter and Fisher.

Fisher has put himself in real contention for the order of merit and I believe he represents Britains best chance of having a Major winner over the next few years.

He is improving all the time.

Surely Rory is the best bet? McIlroy just gets better and better. To be leading the pack going in to Dubai is a phenomenal achievement, particularly for one so young.

Totally agree.

If he remains focussed he could become the White Tiger.

Some of his mid to short iron play yesterday was truly stunning.

He has clearly got the right mindset - coming second is failure.

Perhaps most importantly, he has also shown (unlike Westwood et al) that he can grind out a score even when he's not playing well.

The biggest worry for me is that Scottish Golf has really hit the skids and there would appear to be little likelihood of a Scot making next year's Ryder Cup Team - apart of course from the Gaffer.

The only Scots prospects for the Ryder Cup are Richie Ramsay and Marc Warren in my opinion. Richie will have found much confidence in keeping his card at his first attempt and may fly now. Marc needs to find a level of consistency that he's not had before but since Fontana at the Austrian, is showing much better. Missing the cut by one in HK was a disappointment but he made six straight cuts for the first time. Both of these are proven winners.

That Lee Westwood is one class act. Just awesome this weekend.

Still not convinced by his putting stroke though.

Westwood was in awesome form all weekend and was enjoying some banter with the crowd. He just seemed so relaxed and it showed in his play.

I had been hoping McIlroy would win but the 3 closing bogeys on Saturday ended his chances and I'm not sure he'd have beaten Westwood in that form.

The 17th at the Earth course is awesome, good bar overlooking it as well

My envy knows no bounds!

The course looks fantastic and ideal for spectators, who get a decent "up close" view at most of the holes.

No one - including Tiger - would have lived with Westwood, the way he played at the weekend.

Not winning was probably the best thing that could have happened to McIlroy. He will learn so much more from his cock-ups over the closing holes on Saturday than he would ever have learned from strolling to victory.

They've really set the place up well for spectators, it was a thoroughly enjoyable event, minor gripe was the traffic leaving after the 3rd round on Saturday ended up pretty horrific but for us sensible ones who hung around they had a band on and then the rugby was put on the big screen, I'm sure they'll learn from that for next yaer.

The players had to run the gauntlet of the bar overlooking the 17th to get to the green, it was hilarious and I have to give Padraig Harrington a huge thumbs up here, he was awesome banter when he was walking past. :D

Most of the players were pretty good value actually, they seemed to be enjoying their stroll in the sun.

I suspect that will be a walk in the park compared to Celtic Manor next year.

I'm really not looking forward to that part of the event. :(

I was talking to one of the guys at work this morning, what should have been a 15-20 minute drive home ended up taking him the best part of 3 hours.

Sun shining, air conditioning on, radio at full blast. :D

Compare that with Wales in October.
