Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 2nd April 2016
We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).
Before getting into the tips this week I have a little announcement to make. There is good news and bad news to be broken with regards to the Scottish Even Money Double I have been providing since the turn of the year.
The bad news is that I have been left with little option but to make it a subscribed tip. After ten wins from twelve (83%) and a greater than 70% return on investment it simply has too much value to keep giving it away for free. I know it has value because people are already paying for it.
The good news is that I am offering Pie&Bovril readers a discounted price until the end of the season. The tip normally costs £1 per week but you guys can have the rest of the season (at least seven tips) for just £5.
Just go to the subscriptions page and choose the “P&B Offer (Code required) £5.00” option when signing up. When entering your email address add the code “PB1” in the dialog box. Hopefully the excellent run of the Scottish Even Money Double selection will continue and you will find it a few quid well spent. Onto this week.
The international break has slowed me down a little and I missed value on some of the teams I had been looking at. Peterhead, although I am a little wary of them, looked good value at odds against but that is gone now.
Brechin looked like excellent value at 2.38 (11/8) but that is also long gone and I am just not quite as tempted by 2.15 (23/20). Even the bet I have chosen as my NAP lost a little in the time it took me to take the plunge with both teams to score at St Johnstone now no better than 1.78 (31/40) with McBookie.
That might seem short to some but is deservedly so in my opinion. Dundee Utd have to now adopt a cavalier approach as the do or die moment looms ever closer. The Saints are always liable to concede and the absence of Steven Anderson makes that even more likely.
But their excellent win at Hearts last time out shows that they have rediscovered their form and with both teams scoring in seven of Utd’s last nine away games they can certainly get amongst the goals too.
For the In With A Chance bet I am taking a bit of a wild punt on Albion Rovers to get one over on Dunfermline. It’s PAR-ty (I even groaned myself at that one) time now with the league wrapped up and there is the chance that they might just take their eye off the ball.
Albion Rovers have never been an easy team to get over in Coatbridge so it won’t take much of a percentage drop in performance for them to give their playoff hopes a real shot in the arm.
It is of course for a small stake but with McBookie now quoting 7.5 (13/2) on a home win I am willing to take a wee chance. I am also backing +2.5 goals at Dundee at 1.92 (23/25) with Marathon Bet and that is all for this week.
