Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 6th February 2016

We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).

All good things come to an end and so it was with the Even Money Double selections last week. A lack of goals at Ibrox put pay to it but there are no complaints. If a 75% hit rate continues with that bet I will be more than happy.

The main focus for fitba fans this week will be the Scottish Cup but there are still a smattering of games across all four divisions. I am looking to the Championship for my best bet and St Mirren fans might recoil at my picking them.

The difference between Queen Of The South and Saint Mirren this season, in simplistic terms, has been Queens’ ability to beat the teams below them. Having not won a game against any team currently above them it’s been the seeing off of Morton, Livingston and Alloa that has them level on points with the playoff place.

Saint Mirren have beaten one team in the top half of the table and that was Queens themselves back in September. That’s hardly a harbinger of what’s to come but The Buddies getting the home win monkey off their back could be huge in terms of momentum.

They also look to have done very well in the January transfer window with Rocco Quinn, David Clarkson and Gary Irvine adding experience and quality to the squad. The playoffs are actually a possibility once again and given the poor form of the teams above them I wouldn’t be blown away if they at least get close.

That being said Queens won’t be easy to beat so I am ignoring the 2.55 (31/20) available for a St Mirren win and taking Draw No Bet insurance at 1.9 (9/10) with Ladbrokes.

For the In With A Chance I am looking to Dingwall where Ross County will put an end to the Linlithgow Rose dream. I would expect The Staggies to be more than professional in seeing of the furthest travelling junior side in the history of the competition.

A clear and convincing win is to be expected and there are a few bets available for this match that are very tempting. For there to be +1.5 goals in the first half looks tasty at even money with Boylesports (could easily have been the NAP). County to win -2 at 1.8 (4/5) with bet365 and Paddy Power is also worthy of consideration but -3 at 3.1 (21/10) with Paddy Power looks good for a chance at better than 2/1.

The even money double also comprises a little bit of County with Ross County +2.5 team goals put together with +2.5 total goals in the Berwick Rangers v East Stirlingshire game from League 2. The double pays 2.3 (13/10) with bet365.

NAP(s)

St Mirren Draw No Bet @ 1.9 with Ladbrokes

Ross County v Linlithgow Rose +1.5 First Half Goals at 2.0 with Boylesports

IWAC

Ross County -3 @ 3.1 with Paddy Power

EMD

Ross County +2.5 team goals & Berwick Rangers v East Stirling +2.5 total goals at 2.3 with bet365

Good luck with all your bets this week.
