Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 30th January 2016

We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).

Hearts broke a lot of hearts last week and resulted in my good run on P&B coming to an end. At least the Even Money Double carried on winning so there is a silver lining.

This week looks, on the face of it, to offer up a lot of opportunity but a word of warning to anyone betting on Scottish football this weekend. The weather is going to be atrocious and bad weather affects football matches, particularly wind.

I have decided to play with smaller stakes in some cases and would urge anyone else to consider doing the same but each to their own.

My NAP this week might surprise some, if not all. Saint Mirren at home to Alloa. Rocco Quinn and David Clarkson look to be two excellent additions to a squad that is already belies their league position and I think most would agree that they have a real chance of getting the winless home record off their backs this weekend but I am going one further. I think a handicap should be taken into consideration with Paddy Power offering 2.8 (9/5) for a home win minus a one goal start.

That being said I am taking a different route. Backing the Buddies to Win To Nil pays out at 2.62 (13/8) with Paddy Power and I think it has an excellent chance. Forget about Saint Mirren for a second and look at Alloa’s potential for scoring.

They have scored precisely four goals in their last fifteen matches. One of them was at Saint Mirren right enough but that looks like the exception that proves the rule. In their last fifteen matches they have lost eleven of them without even a consolation goal for their efforts.

It’s a bet I should have been on long ago but for some reason never pulled the trigger. I am not letting this opportunity pass.

The Even Money Double is a +2.5 goals double. The first is from Ibrox where there has been +2.5 goals in all but one game this season. Falkirk look well capable of causing them problems and possibly scoring so it will take at least a couple for a Rangers win, which we should expect.

The second game is from Ochilview. East Stirlingshire have seen +2.5 goals in nineteen of their twenty-two games this season and nine of their eleven home games. Weather permitting this game should see a good few again. The double pays best with Boylesports at 2.3 (13/10).

The In With A Chance is Dundee Utd. Yes, I am getting carried away with one win. Yes it was against Killie who three, four or more sides have scored four plus goals against this season and yes Thistle had been playing well until recently.

Still, I feel Dundee Utd may have turned a corner and with Doolan scoring just once in his last six games, coinciding with Thistle’s drop in form, the home side could struggle for goals again. A price of 3.1 (21/10) with Ladbrokes for a Utd win is too high in my opinion and may drop well below 2/1 (I predict 7/4 at best) by kick off on Saturday. Again, weather permitting.
