Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 23rd/24th January 2016

We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).

Two winning NAPs in a row and the Even Money Double has got off to a great start even if last weeks was truncated by Clyde’s match being called off. Lets hope the run continues this week. There are two NAPs to consider this week, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I’ll start with Sunday’s because you need to be quick as I see this price falling rather rapidly.

Hearts away to Hamilton has all the hallmarks of another mauling for Accies. Martin Canning is staring down the barrel of a gun with a “you’re fired” flag ready to come out of it. Of course Celtic have to be given credit for their 8-1 win on Tuesday but the defending was atrocious from start to finish. Akin, you might think, to the defending that saw Annan stick four past them a few weeks before. Drawing 0-0 away to a St Johnstone side who haven’t scored now in five is the exception that proves the rule. Hearts are likely to score a few on Saturday.

You can back Hearts +1.5 team goals at even money with bet365 and I can see that going off at a much lower price. Like I said, get in quick if you fancy it.

Saturday’s NAP comes from Celtic Park. I think it’s fair to say that the Hoops are firing on all cylinders right now. Leigh Griffiths looks like he’s playing with a point to prove although I am not sure what that point is. That he should be starting for Scotland, perhaps?

Nine goals in his last five games has given Celtic a razor sharp edge and I expect them to be unmercifully cutting against the Perth Saints. I have mentioned before that backing Celtic -2 Asian handicap at home domestically will return a profit if the price is near enough to evens. It is better than that with 888Sport offering 2.14 (57/50).

There is stake back insurance should they win by exactly two goals and that is the minimum I would expect given the form of the respective sides. St Johnstone need to find their form again fast with the league cup semis fast approaching.

The Even Money Double this week starts with that game by backing +2.5 total goals. It looks to have a great chance and is rather generously priced at above the 1.53 (8/13) with Ladbrokes. Double it with Motherwell to score +0.5 goals at a huge 1.3  with Ladbrokes and others. The double pays best with Boylesports at 2.01, just above evens.

The In With A Chance this week is more of a long shot treble featuring Albion Rovers, Cowdenbeath and Arbroath. I considered Peterhead in some manner but then quickly remembered myself. The treble pays best at 11.88 with Coral, not a kick in the backside off 11/1. You could pick any two of the above for a double or place them in a Trixie bet for a little extra security.
