Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 15th/16th January 2016

We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).

I will settle for a week like last week every week if I could guarantee it. Being just a few minutes away from the clean sweep was galling but I did cover the Thistle -1 bet to earn a 20%ish return so, again, will settle for that.

This week has been a particular struggle to settle on anything I could put a degree of confidence in. There is plenty to tempt like Thistle at home to Dundee, Hearts at home to Motherwell, St Johnstone at home to Hamilton Accies and, dare I say it, St Mirren at home to Raith Rovers.

But I came across enough reasons for doubt in all of them. Even the goals markets plagued me with a lack of conviction. This may be down to personal objections that have no place in the considerations of any right minded football bettor but despite turning a profit last week I am still falling on the wrong side of variance and have more than enough nagging doubts about my own form.

That means I wouldn’t put anyone off backing the afore mentioned sides but I just couldn’t pull the trigger, not yet anyway.

Instead my NAP comes from Tannadice on Friday night where I am backing Celtic to win on the HALF-TIME/FULL-TIME market at even money with Coral. They have been leading at half-time in seven of their ten away league games this season, going on to win six of them with Aberdeen being the only exception. That suggests enough value to make the bet profitable in the long term.

For the In With A Chance (IWAC) I am unashamedly stealing it from Venga01 in the gambling forum. He makes a very good case for backing his team, Stranraer, at home to Peterhead. That is even without him taking into consideration the six hour, 260+ mile trip from the north-east to the south-west.

Big journeys don’t always disadvantage teams but they sure as hell don’t help. Again Coral are best priced at 3.5 (5/2) and Venga01 (and I am inclined to agree with him) reckons that price will fall fast as we approach Saturday afternoon.

It was pleasing to see the new Even Money Double get off to a winning start last week so hopefully we can go two from two. Rangers v Livingston could see plenty of goals given The Gers home form so adding +2.5 goals to a Clyde victory pays 1.96 (24/25) with Boylesports.

Clyde should have enough to see off East Stirling who have managed a single point on the road this season.

NAP

Celtic HT/FT @ 2.0 with Coral

IWAC

Stranraer WIN @ 3.5 with Coral

EMD

Rangers/Livi +2.5 goals & Clyde WIN @ 1.96 with Boylesports.

Good luck.
